SONGS BIRDS TAUGHT ME/Por qué cantan las aves (dirs. Adrián Villa Dávila & Alejandra Quintana | Colombia, 2017)

The documentary shows the daily life of three afro-colombian women, “cantaoras” and leaders, victims of the country’s armed conflict; they were forced to leave their territories and in search of some solace they landed in Bogotá. Little by little their voices have turned their songs into nests, into a territory where they can resist and heal in spite of the senseless violence they have fled from.
